Each year we help to raise money for national and local charities and perform in support of numerous local organisations, in venues ranging from churches through village halls to theatres and private business functions.
For each concert we provide the Conductor and Accompanist and, of course, our Choristers. The Choir has a very broad repertoire of classical and popular pieces, music from the shows, hymns and spirituals, and performances will reflect this range. There is some limited scope for tailoring a concert's programme to meet particular preferences and we will try to accommodate specific requests as far as practicable. For an additional charge, a solo artiste may be provided and we will be happy to discuss possibilities with you.
For a nominal cost, we can often offer programme design services and production if required.
A well-tuned piano is required at the venue, or we can, by arrangement, provide an electronic keyboard.
Your commitment would be to provide the venue (with adequate changing facilities for up to 50 choristers) and light refreshments, generate publicity, and make ticket and programme sales.
Our current concert fee is £250 for churches and charities, and £450 for businesses. Most concerts have ticket prices ranging from £6 to £10, depending on the type of event. This
would mean that if 150-200 people attended at the typical £8 per head, £1,200-£1,600 could be taken in ticket sales alone, and extra income raised from programme sales and refreshments.
In all cases we ask for a booking deposit to be paid, which is non-returnable if the proposed event is later cancelled. The amount is negotiable at the time of booking.
For less ambitious ventures, you do need to ensure a minimum paying audience of 50-60 people, not only to cover costs, but to make the event worthwhile for all concerned. An enthusiastic audience encourages the Choir to deliver its best, and we hate to outnumber our audience! We want your concert to be a well-attended success and it’s often possible we can help promote your concert in the local media, in online listings, and/or with posters on the High Streets of Tunbridge Wells or Tonbridge.  Please discuss this at the time of booking.
We already have a busy diary of events into 2009/10, but are happy to discuss how your requirements might be met. For fund-raising to be a success, forward planning is vital.
The Choir has an outstanding record in helping local churches and charities as well as entertaining business customers; John Cohen, our Business Manager, will be happy to discuss how we can meet your particular requirements.
