Choir trip to Belgium - April 2010

The excursion took place between April 16th and 18th. The Choir was accommodated in the Hotel Pax in Dixmuide from where it travelled the short distance to Ypres to take part in the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate. Ex-WW2 Grenadier Guardsman Ken Richardson laid the wreath on behalf of the Choir in remembrance of the fallen. The next day saw the Choir in Bruges for some free time before travelling to Ghent to take part in a concert in the vast St Pauluskirk. On Sunday tribute was again paid to the fallen in a simple open-air ceremony at Tyne Cot cemetery near Ypres before visiting Hill 62 and spending free time in Ypres.

And some other memories . . .

Such as winning the Heart of the Community Award in 2008 and 2009; the Choir barbie in 2009; the 70th anniversary cake; the sections of the Choir at Westerham Church - and more!

So much more than just a Choir!
